Have you ever felt like you’re holding so much inside that it’s almost bursting out of you, but you keep smiling, nodding, and pretending everything’s fine?
That emotional load doesn’t just disappear. It lingers, weighs you down, and creates artificial harmony in your relationships, at work, and even within yourself.
There’s a better way to release it without dumping more negativity into the world. It starts with one simple, disruptive practice: Call FOWL.
FOWL stands for: Fuck Off With Love.
Yes, you read that right. It’s bold, it’s unexpected, and it works. Because it does four powerful things at once:
1. Disrupts old patterns. Saying something so out of character shocks the system. It interrupts the belief that you always have to be the emotional container for everyone else.
2. Reconnects you with your voice. Suppressing your truth silences you. Even a strong expletive can release energy and remind you that your voice matters.
3. Reinforces boundaries. The “fuck off” part is a stop sign. It’s you saying no. And when you say no, you affirm your self-worth.
4. Centers love. The “with love” reminds you that you don’t want to add more negativity into the world. You’re addressing behavior, not dismissing someone’s humanity. And you’re reminding yourself to respond from love, even while setting limits.
Artificial harmony never lasts. If you’re not at peace inside, no amount of pretending will create authentic connection on the outside.
FOWL disrupts that cycle. It allows you to release tension, claim your boundaries, and return to yourself with love intact.
It’s not about being reckless. It’s about shifting the energy, breaking the pattern of carrying what doesn’t belong to you and reclaiming your own worth.
Years ago, I drove a car with the license plate “FKR.” I affectionately called it Focker. One day, a car cut in front of me with the plate “FKD.”
In that moment, I laughed and thought: I’d much rather be FKR than FKD.
That’s the spirit of FOWL. When you stand in your self-worth, speak your truth, and add love to the mix, you shift from feeling “done to” into being powerful, whole, and free.
The next time you feel overwhelmed, heavy, or silenced, try it:
Say it. Sing it. Laugh as you say it.
You’ll feel lighter, stronger, and more in tune with who you really are.
